Where
do we go?
Over the past five years
we've managed to distribute over thirty-thousand pounds of clothing and supplies
throughout the northern highlands along the Sonora/Chihuahua border and in the
Sierra de Sahuaripa and Rio Sonora. Some of the communities we've visited include
Ejido Hernandez, Valle Seco, Valle de Oro, Pacheco, Mesa Tres Rios, Bacadehuachi,
Talayotes, Valle Grande, Nacori Chico, Tarachi, Bavispe, La Iglesia, Bacoachi and
Huachinera. (Inset 1 & Inset 2 on Maps & Legends) In Baja California we're
concentrating relief efforts to agricultural communities outside of San Quintin.
Clothing and supplies are donated primarily to community churches, health and
community centers, as well as individuals and families. Along with destinations
in Mexico in the past we've donated tons of clothing to Native American reservations
in northern Arizona, New Mexico and Utah, earthquake relief for Gujurat, India, and
the Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition, a private relief group providing food and
clothing for the homeless in Los Angeles since 1987.
